Brisbane Powerhouse is Queensland’s home for contemporary culture, a magnificent power station of the 1920s reborn as an arts centre on the Brisbane River.
With over 1,250 performances and events each year, it is one of the busiest arts venues in the Asia-Pacific region. The venue offers a year-round program featuring events across music, comedy, Writers+Ideas, dance, film, visual arts, cabaret, circus, and theatre.
Brisbane Powerhouse have and continue to produce some of Queensland and Australia’s largest events, including MELT: Festival of Queer Arts and Culture, Brisbane Comedy Festival and Wonderland Festival.
The iconic building features two main stage theatres and three additional performance venues, gallery spaces, two restaurants and bars, corporate facilities and one of the best river views in Brisbane. Brisbane Powerhouse is a cultural landmark recognised and loved for its legacy of graffiti – or what is now officially known as heritage-listed ‘aerosol art’.
