Brolga: A Queer Koori Wonderland

26 Oct – 26 Oct 2024

Brolga: A Queer Koori Wonderland, is an interactive art party at the Carriageworks on Saturday 26 October as part of Liveworks Festival 2024.

Curated by renowned Wiradjuri artist Joel Bray and debuting in 2023 to rave reviews (★★★★★ – The Age), Brolga will transform every nook and cranny of Carriageworks into a psychedelic Queer Koori Wonderland, merging the ethos of a club, performance and art space with a series of roving and stage performers, inspired by First Nations stories of the dancing Brolga.

This one-night only event will feature performances by Basjia, BVT, Josie Baker, SOVBLKPSSY and many more.

For an idea of what this multisensory experience will entail – see here for a trailer.

Joel’s work often explores the experiences of fair-skinned Aboriginal people, as well as the experiences of contemporary gay men in an increasingly digital and isolated world, and he would be available to chat about Brolga and what audiences can expect from the night.
