Hung – Jason Jowett @ QTOPIA Sydney

1 Feb – 31 May 2025

“Hung” is a new art collection by Jason Jowett, who was selected for the 2024 Archibald Prize for his portrait of Alex Greenwich. The collection explores queer stories of passion, dating, heartbreak, and recovery, blending personal experiences with universal themes. Created as part of Jowett’s self-care journey in therapy, it features a unique style—puffy, duvet-like forms of painted, stuffed, and sewn linen, inspired by the comforting habit of crawling under covers during low moments. Highlights include a man flaunting his “revenge body,” romantic embraces in nature, and beachside camaraderie. These works celebrate resilience and reclaim queer narratives in historic LGBTQIA+ spaces.

On exhibition until May 2025
