Welcome to our newest member, QAF Events

QAF Events is a Sunshine Coast-based gay activities event organiser that specialises in awesome events and tours for the gay community here on the Sunshine Coast and surrounds.

Who is a QAF Events guest?

There’s no such thing as a typical QAF Event guest. Whether you’re not yet out, or so far out you’re practically on the way back, we welcome you as an individual, and cater to a rainbow of different interests.

Maybe you’re a social butterfly or perhaps a deep & mysterious introvert. Maybe you’re sporty, cultural or adventurous (or all of the above): we have something great waiting just for you.
Everybody’s welcome and free to be themselves. Based on the previous gay social group we ran, on average, our guests ranged in age from late 20s to 50s and beyond, depending on the type of activity, although our guests are predominantly guys, we love welcoming the gals.

Women made up about 10% of our guest numbers previously, and come for the same reasons as the guys: to have the freedom to be themselves in a warm, welcoming community, to meet people and to enjoy new experiences and activities. What’s not to love about that?

Travelling solo? Welcome!

About half of our guests are single and, because our community is so welcoming, you’ll always feel that you belong.

If you’re new to the area it’s a perfect way to dive into the Sunshine Coast & Brisbane gay scene. Geoff and I will always make sure everybody’s happy and comfortable, and create lots of opportunities to meet like-minded buddies, to make new friends and perhaps meet that very special someone or two!
Through our friendly tours and activities we’re building up a strong community and that’s why our guests return again and again.

And, of course, thanks to the tour operator business we operate, we hold all the appropriate licences and accreditations and operate a full industry-approved COVID-safe plan for our events & tours, so you’re always in safe hands.

Congratulations Tweed Regional Museum 🌈

Tweed Regional Museum's online exhibition project, Small Town Queer, has won an Australian Museum and Galleries Association Award in the category of Temporary or Travelling Exhibition.

Small Town Queer explores the rich tapestry of Tweed's LGBTQIA+ history from the early 1900s to the present. This digital project includes the Museum's first podcast series, a story map, and an interactive portal for community stories.

The Museums & Galleries National Awards, or MAGNAs, began in 2011. They recognise excellent work nationally in the categories of exhibition, public programs and sustainability projects.
